Fixed Deposits with banks

Recent survey shows that, 91% people interviewed preferred to invest in bank Fixed Deposits. For many investors, ease of investing, liquidity and their inability to calculate risk, becomes paramount. Fixed deposits score very high for such investors. But the cost of this decision is very high.

One cannot shy away from the fact that interest rates on fixed deposits are going down day-by-day. Challenges associated with taxability, loss on account of pre-mature payment, non-renewal of fixed deposits, impact of inflation on interest income are less realised by depositors and thus, are increasingly making them less appealing.

Like the famous saying, “Everything that glitters is not gold”, one must understand that in the world of investment, “Everything that looks stable, may not be rewarding.”
